Bob was the former CFO for PEER Bearing Company, joining the Spungens in 1995 and heading up the finances for them up to the ultimate sale of the business in 2008. During his tenure, he oversaw a major transformation of the business infrastructure which laid the foundation for the company’s rapid growth. One of Bob’s immediate initiatives was to establish PEER’s very first HR Department thereby assuring the talent needed to propel the growth was either in place or recruited and that the incentive compensation plans were designed to influence the growth. Bob also sponsored and guided the installation of PEER’s first ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which produced many efficiencies throughout the organization, gave Management reporting tools which greatly enhanced decision making, reduced operational errors to a minimum, and was able to significantly reduce the monthly financial closing timeline. Bob was a trusted advisor to the Spungen family and played a key role leading the financial discussions with the ultimate buyer resulting in the successful sale of the business. Subsequent to working for the Spungens, Bob stayed on at PEER Bearing for 3 years, was promoted, and participated in various merger and acquisition roles helping the buyer of PEER Bearing further develop their second brand of bearings through acquisition before leaving to serve as Vice President of Finance at a global financial services firm prior to joining 4GEN.
Bob lives in Mundelein with his wife, daughter, and son where they’ve been since 1991.
