No doubt, Glenn was born into the bearing industry! Working with his grandfather, father, brother, sister, uncles, and cousins manufacturing bearings and servicing major OEM’s and Distributors was truly an honor. 4GEN Bearing is simply an extension of what their family has been doing since the 1940’s.
Glenn has been asked what are his three greatest bearing memories? The first was handing out “appreciation bonuses” to all of his employees in the United States and Asia after selling PEER Bearing to SKF. The second was picking up the John Deere “Supplier of the Year Award” with his father, brother, and team members. The third was to hear his father say, “Your Grandpa Nate would be proud we are now manufacturing products for Chrysler”.
As for Glenn, he yelled “Beer, Popcorn, Coke, Hotdogs, and Frosty Malts” for 10 years while employed as a vendor at Wrigley Field, Soldier Field, and Comiskey Park (now Guaranteed Rate Field). Going up and down the stairs for 4-5 hours per game (while working 100% on straight commission) gave him the drive to succeed.
Glenn graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 1985. From there, he joined the family bearing business focusing on sales and operations. The experience of working strategically with distributors, OEM’s, and manufacturing plants is something he carries forward with him to this day. Although Glenn is known for being a workaholic, he simply enjoys building long-term relationships with his customers. It’s that simple!
Outside of work, Glenn attends musical concerts and sporting events (like Chicago Blackhawks and Bears games), travels, bike rides, and plays golf. Of course, he also has to keep his wife and three children happy!
